Kapital 1 Kulture - Eric Vander Putten

I found the article "How German is America?" very interesting to read. Having never taken a German class before, it is very cool to see how much German culture actually affects the lives of Americans. It was sad to read in the article that many Germans who have come to America have lost touch with a lot of their German roots.
There were a lot of interesting facts about German-Americans in the article that I had never heard before, like the fact that 15.2% of people in America identify themselves as having German ancestors. It was also interesting to read about how the Turner movement had such a large impact on the development of gymnastics.
I am excited for this class and hope that it will continue to be a fun and interesting semester.
