Jacob DeBolt- AMD 4

For my AMD, I saw the movie The Baader Meinhof Complex. It's about a German anti-capitalist movement in the sixties, headed by none other than Moritz Bleibtreu, of Lola Rennt fame. The movie also features a sympathetic journalist, Frau Meinhof. She starts out as merely a journalist, but during a scheduled interview with Bleibtreu's character, there's a break out. She joins the revolution in a symbolic manner, which I will not spoil, and proceeds to be one of the central pieces of the revolution. The film has been nominated for an oscar, and boy does it show! The cinematography is absoulutely fantastic, and for a movie about a time of violent social upheaval in Germany, the violence is used to great effect and to form a point. This film gets a glowing recommendation from me, and anybody else who would like to use it for their AMD shouldn't hesitate to do so. The film also compares favorably to my previous AMD, as it is far more intellectual, and educational, and frankly more highbrow.
