For my 6th AMD, I found and listened to a German podcast called, "Intergalaktischen Podcast" mit Ralf. In his podcast, Ralf goes on for about 5 minutes about whatever he feels like. One episode is about Mao Zedong, and another is about (I think) beer vending machines, which he thinks are a good idea. It was interesting that, even though he spoke at a pace of about ninety miles an hour, I was able to pick up a large portion of the podcast, and I was able to understand not only what he was saying, but why he was saying it. At the end of each cast, for example, Ralf will send us off with a friendly "Tschüss," which I would not have picked up on before the class. Another thing I can pick up on is that Ralf enjoys video games. He had apparently recently picked up "Need for Speed Underground," Which he seemed to really enjoy. It's very interesting to see when I can get the main point and when I cannot, and I usually can. It's definitely a testament to how much I have learned over the semester, and I can't wait for 102!
