For my hour, I watched German television with English subtitles. Again I found that to be helpful as well as entertaining. I watched some of "modern family," which was unfortunately much less funny than it is in English. It was probably because I had to read the subtitles, which took away from the comedic timing, but thats not that important. I found that focusing on the theme of the episode made it much easier to understand, just because knowing what the show centered around in German made it much easier to make connections and it required less guessing of what certain words meant.
